In the Documenting Our Heritage project, Carnegie Mellon University and the Iñupiat History, Language, and Culture commission of the North Slope Borough of Alaska are using high-resolution photography and social networking to record, discuss, and share traditional practices. The project seeks to build on increasing youth engagement with new technologies as a launch pad for reflection and discussion about the traditions, knowledge, and language that must be preserved.
